About the Job

The Transportation Manager effectively manages the dedicated fleet operations and leads to maximum profitability, while exceeding customer expectations and developing additional business opportunities for InProduction.

This position is in Warrenville, Illinois 60555

Salary will be commensurate with experience


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Maximizes fleet efficiencies through proper planning and execution ensuring a safe working environment.
  • Ensure customer satisfaction in all areas of service, reporting and business development.
  • Maximize profitability through operations excellence, asset utilization and cost control.
  • Budget preparation and Pamp;L responsibility
  • Facilitate, manage, and support all internal and external reporting requirements.
  • Represents InProduction in a positive manner to the customer and local community.
  • Provides leadership to staff and further the growth and development of all employees, to include employee recognition.
  • Sources all avenues to grow revenue base with both dedicated and non-dedicated customers.
  • Works with all of InProduction support staff (Sales/Project Managers/Foremen/Human Resources/etc.)
  • Managing and audit CMV files, DOT driver qualification files, DOT drug/alcohol programs, vehicle inspections, hours of service, permits, etc.
  • Maintain updated FMCSA carrier safety profile.
  • Ensure that all maintenance operations are done in accordance with company policy and DOT guidelines and service vehicles.
  • Renew IFTA license annually.
  • Manage fuel card program.
  • Compliance with governmental reporting, i.e. IFTA, maintaining plates, permits, IPASS and violation resolutions
  • Compiling periodic distance and fuel reporting in compliance with IRP/IFTA requirements

Additional Responsibilities

  • Plan and coordinate all maintenance activities including analyzing equipment needs, reliability issues, developing preventive/predictive maintenance programs.
  • Maintain and manage Truck/Trailer inventory (i.e. what is in yards, location of keys, etc.).
  • Facilitate the Renting and Purchasing of Equipment, Trucks, Trailers, etc.
  • Quarterly Reporting on all assets.
  • Develop and Maintain a wide variety of fleet operational guidelines.
  • Assisting in managing Driver payroll.
  • Assist in hiring Class A CDL drivers.
  • Utilize Telematics to allocate truck mileage and rates for each job, establish Geo Fences related to each job/project, and maintain the integrity of all data within Telematics.
  • Monitor and manage Telematics Alerts for speeding, theft, and other alerts and provide reports.

Requirements

About You

  • 5+ years’ experience in logistics and/or transportation.
  • BA or BS Degree preferred.
  • Computer applications experience including MS Office strongly desirable.
  • Computer applications systems experience using TMW and Supply Chain Management systems helpful.
  • Pamp;L management and reporting experience and strong organizational background desired.
  • Excellent customer service, problem solving and decision-making skills desirable.
  • Strong verbal amp; written communication skills.
  • Ability and availability to work extended hours including nights and weekends as needed by the client.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of FMCSA / DOT regulations.
  • Experience with and working knowledge of Telematic systems and applications.
