Job Description

Over the next ten years, the global market for online wine sales is expected to grow significantly, and Vivino will be at the forefront of this growth. To support this objective, we are looking for a motivated, innovative Subscription Manager to join our Brand Marketing team in San Francisco.


Manage and grow the Vivino Wine Club in current and new markets
The right candidate will be an experienced strategic marketer who leads with curiosity. This person is focused on developing engaging marketing campaigns that grow and retain membership and coordinating program expansion efforts. They must also be comfortable diving into a deeper understanding of wine club performance metrics and collaborating with technical teams. While the candidate does not need to speak any other languages, having a global mindset is strongly preferred, as they will be working with partners across the world.

The main responsibilities in this role are divided into three areas:

Program Strategy

  • Manage all day-to-day strategy, marketing, and analysis activities associated with the growth and success of the subscription business
  • Develop and communicate strategies with the working team and broader organization that maximize subscription revenues to attain our annual goals
  • Responsible for liaising and collaborating with Product and Commerce teams to support the subscription roadmap including research, new features, and market expansion


Program Marketing

  • Develop, implement, and evaluate solutions to acquire and retain subscribers in collaboration with the Product and Marketing teams
  • Test and optimize performance channels with Performance Marketing team


Program Analysis

  • Track, analyze, and report on program key performance indicators and subscriber purchase behavior


Adding to that, you will also provide category expertise, serving as the expert on subscription best practices, monitor competitor programs, and provide actionable recommendations.

Motivated, attentive and enthusiastic team player with great communication skills
We are looking for you, if you leave your ego at the (virtual) door. You’re comfortable operating at both the strategic and executional level. You’re focused on collaboration over competition - driving the best results for the program and the team.

Furthermore, we hope to see that you have:

  • 5+ years of marketing and strategy or operations experience within a high-growth or subscription business
  • Bachelor’s Degree in business, marketing or similar, or equivalent experience
  • Excellent track record of driving growth via marketing initiatives
  • Experience in growth marketing with an emphasis on experimentation
  • Capability to distill data and findings from quantitative and qualitative sources into actionable insights and strategic direction
  • Exceptional communication, organization, attention to detail, time management and problem-solving skills
