Job Description

Joint Academy is a team of scientists, software engineers, and other professionals creating a digital treatment for one of the world's most common ailments, chronic joint pain. The Joint Academy platform leverages technology and a clinically proven treatment program that directly connects patients with licensed physical therapists, to provides them with access to education and an individualized care programs. We are looking for a leader and an operational guru to join us towards building out our Operations team. The team operates at the cross-section of our program implementation, clinical and patient support teams in order to ensure continuous support and satisfaction of our Patients and PTs.

The mission of this role is to ensure that Joint Academy patients get routed to patient support and PTs for their program in a timely manner in order to maximize onboarding rates and overall user satisfaction. The individual in this role will be responsible for scaling the team, establishing operational workflows and working with the product team on introducing new programs into the platform. Given that, the individual in this role will be a leader within Joint Academy with the opportunity to drive a big impact by building out a line function as well as operating cross-functionally, the ideal candidate will have 4-7 years of experience in operations with a demonstrated ability to build a team and scale a function. We are looking for an individual who can see the big picture but is also willing to roll up their sleeves to continuously improve every detail of day to day operations.


Core Responsibilities

Capacity Planning and Allocation

  • Maintain short-term and long-term balance between supply and demand for all Joint Academy programs in order to minimize wait times of our patients
  • Ensure consistency in scaling our patient support and PT teams via appropriate allocation of patient support and PT resources to users on a day to day basis
  • Oversees operational delivery for our Patients, PTs, and payers including efficient, effective, and high-quality services

Team Building

  • Build, develop and manage a high performing Operations team composed of operations implementation, patient support and clinical staff
  • Work cross-functionally and collaborate closely with other leaders to ensure targets are achieved.
  • Be the glue between the organizations departments connecting all teams together to create a consistent understanding of the strategy

Project Management

  • Establish workflows and introduce tools to support the rollout of new programs and overall scaling of the function
  • Provide guidance to product teams on how to translate operational needs and requirements into product development
  • Collect and analyze data/feedback from our Patients and Physical Therapists to gain a deep understanding of their needs in order to translate them into actions

Requirements

  • 4+ years of experience leading operations, within a health, wellness, or fitness tech or SaaS company required
  • Bachelor’s, Master’s Degree or equivalent years of related work experience
  • Ability to manage a team and cross-functional resources through seasons of rapid growth including setting priorities and expectations
  • Experience in diagnosing, isolating, and resolving complex issues and recommending and implementing strategies to resolve problems
  • Experience in highly detailed-oriented process/workflow building, operational improvement, and project management
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once from discovery phase to execution within prescribed timelines, ensuring all success criteria are met
  • Experience in the use of business analytics - and CRM tools (Salesforce and Tableau a plus)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication, professional writing, and presentation skills
