Plain Concepts is a tech company founded in 2006 by 4 Microsoft MVPs. Our team is made of people passionate about technology. We love helping our clients with their technological challenges. We enjoy sharing our knowledge with them, especially when it comes to the latest innovations.
With more than 350 employees globally, Plain Concepts keeps growing. However, with just under 8 employees. our US office remains a start-up like company and we’re looking for a passionate, motivated and senior creative senior designer to partner with our clients and internal teams.
In this role, you will be working for our main customer, Microsoft, with projects focus on showcasing innovation and latest technologies in demos, prototypes, and marketing websites for events such as Microsoft Ignite and Microsoft //BUILD. You will be working as a part of the US office team, but often you will have to work closely with UX/UI team in Europe and provide directions and feedback to their designs.
This is a Redmond, WA based role. The Plain Concepts offices are currently closed, and the team is fully remote, but ultimately, we will return to in-person work when it is safe to do so.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Create high fidelity visual design driven by user experience best practices from their conceptualization until their completion.
- Collaborate and communicate effectively with clients.
- Provide clear directions and work closely with the UX/UI team.
- Manage design schedule and oversee all UX/UI deliverables for US customers.
- Collaborate closely with design-developers and engineers to shape your work together.
- Lead brainstorms sessions within the team to create compelling stories and innovative experiences.
- Research and share new ways of thinking and concepts in the industry.
Qualifications
- Demonstrable UX and UI design skills with a strong portfolio.
- An intimate understanding of design, copy and best practices/guidelines for web and digital content.
- Solid experience in creating wireframes, storyboards, user flows, process flows, and site maps.
- Strong command of Figma, Sketch, Adobe Creative Suite or other visual design and wireframe tools.
- Excellent communication skills and loves to pitch creative internally and externally to our customers.
- Ability to translate abstract concepts into innovative designs.
- Self-starting and ability to manage workload
- Ability to effectively relate design decisions to business priorities.
Bonus Points if you have:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Art, Graphic Design, or a related field of study.
- Experience using 3Ds Max or Blender.
- Animation using After Effects.
- Agile methodologies and design thinking.
