Job Description

Community Membership Sales Coordinator

Location: Austin, Texas, United States

Team: Memberships

Reporting to: Senior Operations Manager

The Community Membership Sales Coordinator is responsible for bringing in new memberships to Capital Factory and creating an unforgettable first impression for Capital Factory member prospects. This includes giving tours to the public, participating in all of our events that are open to the public, and conducting marketing outreach campaigns to help you sell new memberships. This also helps you best describe the elements of our community membership offering that will most benefit a given founder. This is a 100% on-site job in our downtown Austin office.

What you will do

  • Your number one priority will be sales, which includes both our virtual-only community membership offering as well as traditional coworking, dedicated desks and offices.
  • You will meet with so many different startup founders that you have a very good sense of the challenges they face and the opportunities they are working on.
  • You will work closely with Capital Factory team members from operations, marketing, programming, and events.
  • You will be the first person that most new members meet and the day to day face of Capital Factory to our guests.
  • You set expectations with prospective members in such a way that Capital Factory is able to over-deliver and, thereby, retain these new members for a long time.
  • The members that you recruit will become one of your best sales tools as they share their experience with others.

You'll know if you're successful if..

  • Our rate of new membership sign-ups increases every month
  • Our sales engagement process involves a very efficient amount of human involvement, and our entry-level membership offerings rarely involve more than a single conversation
  • New members never cancel due to feeling we oversold our membership offering or its expected value
  • Members that you recruited refer prospects to you without your request
  • You have a very productive and collaborative relationship with the Operations and Marketing teams
  • New members that you recruit proactively reach out to a Capital Factory executive to give positive feedback about their experience interacting with you

Requirements

About you

  • You are outgoing and can talk to just about anyone, especially startup founders working on interesting business ventures.
  • You are a documentor. You always maintain an accurate pipeline in the CRM and use it extensively to prioritize your activities. Ideally, you’ve used a CRM before.
  • You are a ball juggler and love it when a day flies by because you were so busy interacting with interesting startup founders
  • You understand this is a sales-related position that comes with inconsistency of earnings that are directly related to meeting and exceeding your objectives. That excites you much more than stresses you out, because of the upside potential it offers.
  • You are organized and plan ahead, but you don’t get stressed out when things change at the last minute. Because they will. You roll with it.
  • You check your email on the weekend and do what it takes to get the job done.
  • You plan to stay in Texas and commit to this position for 2 years.

  • We have a quiet place with fast internet where we can work remotely.
  • We have a reliable laptop computer and smartphone.
  • We are security aware. We have a passcode on our computers and phones and use a password manager.
