Whether it's assessing policies that can support research and development on new drugs and vaccines, exploring innovations in healthcare and connecting innovators to each other or to investors, supporting the growing global movement for universal health coverage, or producing on-demand research and forecasting to help countries and global institutions plan their healthcare futures, R4D’s global health work unlocks new possibilities for global health actors worldwide.R4D is seeking a highly motivated and dynamic Operations Associate (OA) to join our Global Health Team and provide administrative and program management support to a range of R4D’s health programs.This position is based in Washington, DC and will report to the Senior Program Officer.Responsibilities
  • The Operations Associate will serve as a key member of the Health Operations team, supporting multiple project teams across the portfolio. Responsibilities of the OA will encompass administrative, project management, research, and communication tasks. Potential responsibilities include:

Provide support on a range of administrative tasks including:
  • developing contracts
  • budget and expenditure tracking
  • invoice processing
  • preparation of reports
  • organizing meetings and events
  • data entry
  • monitoring workplans
  • liaising with project stakeholders
  • support coordinating recruitment of staff and consultants

Produce and/or edit a variety of documents including briefing materials, meeting notes, presentation slides and reports for both internal and external audiences
Contribute to the development of administrative policies and procedures to ensure efficient and effective project implementation
Support technical teams in designing and conducting virtual/in-person/hybrid meetings, including, but not limited to:
  • Support identification of webinar platform and connectivity options
  • Support with participant outreach and management before, during and after the meetings or events
  • Work closely with project and IT teams during events and provide logistical support as needed (e.g. notetaking, emailing handouts, keeping track of attendees, etc.)

Performing other duties as necessary
Qualifications
  • BA in business, public health, or relevant field
  • Two (2) years relevant work experience
  • Ability to set priorities and handle multiple competing time and resource demands, highly organized
  • Detail-oriented with strong analytical, written, and verbal communication skills
  • Self-starter with demonstrated ability to work as part of a team and independently, managing up when needed
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office suite, including Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook; Advanced PowerPoint design skills desirable
  • An understanding of webinar technology preferred
  • French fluency is highly desired
  • Experience living/working in a low or lower-middle income country is highly desired
