Summary/objective

The Medical Billing/Intake Registration Temp reports to the VP of Revenue Cycle Management and is primarily responsible for accepting referrals and onboarding new patients

Essential functions

• Accept referrals from facilities
• Data entry of all new patient face sheets in to EMR system
• Verify and investigate insurance coverage
• Retrieve any late or missing face sheets
• Confirm provider empanelment with Payers

• Work with facilities and providers to ensure timely submission of all documentation and signatures through the DocuSign application

Requirements

Competencies and skills

• 1-3 years in healthcare registration and/or billing
• Knowledge of payers - Medicare/Medicaid preferred
• Experience of EMR systems
• Excellent phone skills involving calling providers and facilities
• Excellent computer skills including but not limited to Outlook, Excel, Word, PDFs
• Self-driven and competitive, with ability to work well within a team

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

Ability to quickly learn and retain knowledge

Commitment to detail orientation, responsiveness and follow through

Supervisory responsibilities

• None

Work environment

• May be remote to start due to COVID-19 pandemic, with a goal to return to our Hamilton, NJ office by Summer 2021

Required education and experience

• High school diploma

• Associates degree
• Familiarity with medical terminology, intake procedures
• Experience in the medical or insurance field
