Job Description
Online shopping has changed. Today’s eCommerce runs on selling products, not brands. SamCart is the first e- commerce platform built from the ground up for direct-to-consumer brands. By focusing on the product level, and not the store level, our customers can create beautiful sites that showcase their products, convert visitors into customers, and increase the value of each purchase.
SamCart is looking for an active-minded Director of Engineering Operations who is focused on achieving standards and works with vision and honesty. The Director of Engineering Operations should be confident in managing our teams while, at the same time, setting goals, budgets and timelines for various projects. We also expect you to be in charge of our integrations with external partners and oversee all software development plans from ideation to execution.
Ultimately, you’ll make sure we use innovative technologies that maximize our productivity and help our company grow. You should have excellent leadership, communication, and project management abilities, years of management experience, and a belief in improving the skills and talents of others to be an effective Director of Engineering.
Requirements
Responsibilities
- Establish best practices and processes for the operations teams
- Coach and mentor team leads
- Oversee in the hiring of new staff and implement processes for personal growth
- Lead efforts around infrastructure scaling, and improve and develop automation solutions
- Continually improve processes for production escalations and monitoring
- Review software engineering architectural design proposals and provide implementation guidance
- Work with the VP of Engineering to establish and execute on the product vision and engineering goals
Requirements
- Previous experience overseeing distributed teams
- Excellent time management and communication skills
- Expertise with CI/CD integration tools
- Prior experience with various scripting languages
- Expertise with AWS and scaling applications
