Job Description

Armstrong Flooring has a great career opportunity for an HR Generalist at our Lancaster, PA manufacturing plant. Under the supervision of the Plant HR Manager, you will be responsible for employee training and skill certification, labor contract administration, staffing, and orientation, site compliance to applicable federal, state, and local laws. This is an excellent opportunity for an aspiring HR professional to gain additional functional knowledge in a world-class manufacturing environment.

We are looking for energetic and driven HR practitioners who have functional HR competency, hands-on experience providing a wide range of HR services to employee groups, strong leadership abilities, and a passion for developing, motivating, and engaging employees. How you’ll contribute to the team:

  • Support the execution of key plant HR initiatives and processes to drive continuous improvement in the areas of organization effectiveness, staffing, employee relations, performance management, training and development, payroll administration, benefits, employment practices and compliance
  • Lead and direct community relations efforts
  • Administers plant Attendance System
  • Engage in practical and rational employee relations efforts
  • Support organization change efforts and collaborate with plant leadership to ensure successful change management approaches through effective planning and analysis, communication of change initiatives, full and active leadership support and employee involvement
  • Provide counsel and coaching to all employees on a wide range of personnel matters
  • Administer all plant employment actions; completion of forms, tracking metrics, etc.
  • Track and analyze plant HR metrics to determine root cause and develop and execute action plans to address problem areas

Requirements

What you'll bring to the table:

  • Business degree, Human Resources degree, or related field; Bachelor's degree required
  • 3+ years of hands on HR experience preferably in a manufacturing environment
  • Project management abilities with excellent communication and leadership abilities
  • Familiarity with HR metrics
  • Ability to work the occasional off shift to support 24 hour manufacturing operations
  • Basic Process Improvement awareness ; Trailblazing, Lean Manufacturing, Green Belt experience is helpful

We'll be excited if you have:

  • PHR/SPHR certification
  • Managing in a union environment
  • Understanding of SAP HR systems or similar HRIS experience
  • Experience with Kronos or ADP eTime or similar payroll software
