Job Description

We are seeking a professional, self-motivated, detailed-oriented individual to join our Technical team. Qualified applicants should possess excellent communication skills, a friendly phone presence, the ability to work cooperatively with other team members and multitask in a fast-paced environment. We are seeking someone who reads and interprets blueprints to generate EWP layouts for single family, multi-family or commercial projects in a timely manner; optimizes design for maximum efficiency while meeting the customers preferences and local codes requirements.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities include the following. Other duties may be assigned.

  • Reading and Interpreting Architectural and Structural blueprints.
  • Producing EWP layout designs for floor and roof as well as single member beam sizing utilizing design software provided.
  • Communicate with customers’ prior to design their requirements and discuss inconsistencies or revisions on the blueprints during design/construction. Aid with resolving design failures and blueprint discrepancies during all stages of the job.
  • Communicate effectively with customers, architects, engineers, builders and internal staff with a strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • The ability to calculate load paths through a building including concentrated, tributary and area loads.
  • Building quotes in Bistrack and updated our plan log in Sharepoint.
  • Self-motivated, detail oriented and the ability to work independently with little oversight.
  • The ability to analyze, troubleshoot and problem solve within a group or individually.
  • Miscellaneous projects as assigned.

  • Supervisory Responsibilities: This job has no supervisory responsibilities.

    Requirements

    QUALIFICATIONS

    Education and Experience Minimum one-year certificate from college or technical school and two years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

    Mathematical Skills Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, fractions, and decimals.

    Load Development Skills Ability to identify and develop loads from two-dimensional construction documents

    Computer Skills - Advanced knowledge of CAD and Microsoft Office software.
