Role: Director of Technology

Reports to: Chief Financial Officer

THE POSITION:

The Director of Technology will work closely with functional leaders to ensure business objectives are aligned with our system architecture. The Director of Technology will lead the organization’s program management processes to coordinate the effective and timely delivery of TomboyX’s portfolio of technology and process improvement initiatives. As the organization grows, the Director of Technology will build out their own team of insourced and outsourced resources to support the organization.

In this role the Director of Technology will be integral to leading technology governance for the organization, including strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing technology initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment and management of current and future technology systems across the organization.

This role will report to the CFO and collaborate closely with leadership and teams across the company.

Requirements

RESPONSIBILITIES:

· Lead technology strategic and operational planning to achieve business goals by fostering innovation, prioritizing technology initiatives, and coordinating the evaluation, deployment, and management of current and future technology systems across the organization

· Lead technology governance of the business organization

· Lead technology program management processes to coordinate and prioritize concurrent IT initiatives

· Develop, track, and control the information technology annual operating and capital budgets

· Develop and maintain an appropriate IT organizational structure that supports the needs of the business

· Establish technology departmental goals, objectives, and operating procedures.

· Evaluate change management requirements for specific projects and functional areas, and lead executive level assessments of gaps and recommendations

· Direct development and execution of an enterprise-wide security program

· Serve as liaison between business users’ needs and technology solutions through applications and data management

· Identify opportunities for the appropriate and cost-effective investment of financial resources in IT system and resources, including staffing, sourcing, and purchasing

· Develop business cases for proposed technology projects (ex: costs, required vendors, level of effort, and timeline)

· Drive process improvement initiatives, including reengineering business processes and streamlining data flow between applications

· Keep current with technology trends and issues in the industry, including current technologies and prices. Advise, counsel, educate on relative competitive or financial impact

· Promote and oversee strategic relationships between internal technology resources and external partners

· Supervise recruitment, development, retention, and organization of all technology staff in accordance with strategic and corporate budgetary objectives

EXPERIENCE:

· 10+ years of experience in technology leadership, including applications management, business analysis, process improvement, and data management

· Experience in consumer products industry with direct-to-consumer channels preferred, including efforts to improve the customer experience

· Extensive experience with mid-market ecommerce solutions, including Shopify

· Experience with mid-market ERP, marketing automation, BI, PLM, and CRM solutions
