About this role
This role will work cross functionally to answer questions, solve problems, and identify opportunity across our business. It is a brand new role at WS Development, so we are looking for an enterprising, entrepreneurial leader who can help us to further define the role and explore the full set of impactful work to pursue. The ability to prioritize based on the potential value of the work will be critical (because we expect there will be endless interesting analyses to pursue). The right candidate will have strong data analysis skill while also possessing great strategic capabilities to help turn insights into action. The work will make an impact on many areas of the business including Leasing, Marketing, and Investments to name a few, and it will also serve the leadership of our company, the Executive Committee.
This role will report into the SVP, Head of Company Operations with dotted line reporting to the SVP, Head of Marketing.
Responsibilities
- Lead analysis requested by Investments, Leasing, Marketing, and Field teams such as acquisition research, customization of WS leasing collateral to target specific tenant prospects and/or categories, calculation of marketing ROI, analysis of on-site traffic patterns) by deploying data such as tenant sales, CAM expense, retail market data, and demographic data
- Lead analysis requested by our Executive Committee to answer questions about the business and proactively consider new opportunities such as corporate efficiencies or new business opportunities
- Proactively consider analysis to be done to aid in Leasing conversations
- Proactively consider analysis to be done leveraging our existing 3rd party data (ex. Placer AI)
- Explore our internal data sets to look for trends and opportunities (ex. CAM expense, tenant sales, tenant rents, construction costs, etc)
- Own utilization of company demographic and data platforms
- Connect with industry peers to understand work being done in the realm of data insights as well as 3rd party data being used and make proactive recommendations for WS to pursue
- Learn our data sets and data tools (both internal and external) and make recommendations for improvement
Requirements
- College degree required, advanced degree a plus but not required
- Commercial real estate experience a plus but not required
- 3+ years of experience in quantitative, analytical roles
- Coding experience required *
- Strong written and verbal communication skills
- Experience with storytelling with data
