Employment Solutions is looking for Quality Control Specialist in the Opa-Locka, FL area.
Pay range: $29,120-$31,200

This company runs a rotating shift as follows:
Monday-Friday (every other week 5:30am-2:15pm and 2:30pm-11pm)
1. Performs receiving inspection of raw materials, packaging, cigarette paper bobbins, foil
bobbins, cellophane bobbins, etc. to include all other vendor products used for the production
of the finished goods.
2. Inspects tobacco for humidity using digital humidity measuring tools, (e.g., at receiving points),
checks for proper cut; conducts sieve analysis recording and ensuring it meets established
parameters, and tobacco is in overall acceptable condition before accepting into inventory. (1)
3. Responsible to ensure unacceptable tobacco is properly segregated and QA Manager is timely
and properly notified so that the unacceptable tobacco can be returned to vendor for credit to
the company.
4. Collects samples of packaging components and tobacco for further analysis and/or
determination as applicable.
5. Smells tobacco to ensure appropriate aroma and absence of foreign elements detrimental to
quality production from raw material.
6. Examines tobacco for insects or any foreign materials.
7. Checks glue against product order specifications.
8. Timely reports deviations to QA Manager for corrective action and informs Manufacturing
Managers to prevent usage. Registers findings in the Inspection Record and NC Request
modules in the uniPoint system, completes appropriate documentation, and ensures materials
that are non-compliant or non-conformant are not used and/or received/assigned to production.
9. Inspects all components for production against the created standard for content integrity,
physical and quantitative measurement to acceptable parameters established as specifications.
Requirements
1. Performs product inspections and investigations.
2. Communicates well with immediate supervisor as needed and in a timely fashion.
3. Reports variations to QA Manager/Supervisor for corrective action.
4. Maintains good housekeeping, hygiene, sanitation, and pest control practices.
5. Observes all safety practices and requests to be properly trained on such safety practices as
needed.
