- Perform field inspections for a variety of minimal to moderately complex public work/capitol improvement projects and private development projects including roads, drainage, grading, water and waste water pipelines and treatment facilities, tanks, parks and landscaping, bike paths, bridges, environmental mitigation, traffic signals, signage, and similar projects
- Review construction material sampling for conformance to plans, specifications, and any/all special conditions
- Practice compliance engineering to meet the standards of all applicable law codes, ordinances, and city regulations
- Maintain accurate records on project progress, work quality, labor and equipment used, work items not in conformance to plans, record drawings, and other project information
- Prepare written correspondence and spreadsheets required in performance of the work
- Explain agency standards to others such as contractors, citizens, and other agency representatives
- Review routine construction project plans for specifications conformance
- Propose minor design changes in the field to Project Manager when appropriate
- Other related duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Experience, Education, Licensure, or Certification Required
- Associate’s degree from an accredited college or university or 2 years of transferable related inspection experience
