TechFlow is searching for a talented Payroll/Accounts Payable Accountant. The candidate will have demonstrated experience in payroll and accounts payable processing in a complex, multi-state, growth-driven environment. This position reports directly to the Senior Accounting Manager.

DESCRIPTION

The Accounts Payable / Payroll Accountant is responsible for all payroll and accounts payable functions. A successful candidate will be able to work with little supervision or oversight.

PAYROLL

  • All payroll functions including prevailing wage and workers’ comp reports and audits.
  • Process semi-monthly payroll for approximately 125 employees using web-based Deltek Costpoint accounting and timekeeping system and Paylocity payroll service.
  • Validate employee setup in accounting and payroll systems to ensure payroll accuracy.
  • Post and reconcile payroll transactions in the general ledger, including employee taxes and benefits.
  • Process complex timesheets with multiple allocations and pay rates.
  • Research and resolve payroll and timesheet-related issues.
  • Maintain payroll database and file payroll records in a timely manner.
  • Prepare payroll reports required by Federal, State, and other agencies.
  • Familiar with payroll laws.
  • Accuracy with the calculation of hours and pay, including tax withholdings and other payroll deductions.
  • Conduct appropriate reviews and reconciliations to ensure data integrity.
  • Assist in annual audits and other regularly required audits.

ACCOUNTS PAYABLE

  • A/P functions including review and entry of invoices and payments, including employee expense reimbursements.
  • Process A/P for a weekly check run and send out checks in a timely manner.
  • Cross-train with other department positions to ensure seamless operation of accounting functions.
  • Work as part of the Accounting/Finance team to provide complete and accurate organizational support.
  • Other duties include accounting for petty cash and bank deposits and other assistance as needed.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of general accounting, accounts payable and payroll experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting or related field of study
  • Experience with Deltek accounting system
  • Experience with Paylocity or other web-based third-party payroll systems
  • Demonstrated proficiency in a computerized accounting system.
  • Demonstrated proficiency in MS Office applications (Word, Excel, Outlook)

  • Demonstrated data management skills, including the ability to enter data accurately, produce reports and create Excel spreadsheets.

  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to prioritize multiple tasks in order to meet deadlines.
  • Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to effectively communicate with all levels of management, staff, and clients.
