Maintenance Trades Worker

The primary responsibilities of the HVAC Maintenance Trades Worke include general maintenance and repair of equipment and buildings requiring practical skill and knowledge (but not proficiency) in the HVAC trade. Assists one or more workers in the HVAC trade by performing specific or general duties of lesser skill, such as keeping a worker supplied with materials and tools; cleaning working areas, machines, and equipment; assisting by holding materials or tools; and performing other tasks as directed.

Members of Steamfitters UA Local 602 / Incumbent are highly preferred

• Performs preventative maintenance on a variety of heating and cooling equipment.
• Installs air on various equipment on a periodic basis.
• Utilizes a variety of trade equipment and mechanical hand and power tools in performing work assignments.
• Assists in maintaining an adequate supply of materials, equipment, and tools required to fulfill work assignments.
• Ability to work independently, as well as in teams.
• Physical requirements of work assignments to include lifting of 25 - 50 lbs., the performance of moderate to strenuous manual labor and performing work assignments with the use of tools and equipment in cramped and contorted positions.
• Performs other related duties, as assigned, for the purpose of ensuring the efficient and effective functioning of the work.

Requirements

• High School diploma or GED.
• Previous experience working on HVAC equipment highly preferred
• CFC License preferred or ability to obtain CFC License (minimum type 2, Universal preferred) within 60 days of employment.

• A valid drivers license

• All applicants must pass a drug test and background check.
• Must be able to obtain and maintain access to military installations
• Physical requirements of work assignments to include lifting of 25 - 50 lbs., performance of moderate to strenuous manual labor and performing work assignments with the use of tools and equipment in cramped and contorted position
