Stronghill Capital’s Resi Express business line originates investment (non-owner occupied) residential mortgage loans to borrowers nationwide. We are seeking candidates for our Resi ExpressLoan Closer position at our Austin Headquarters. The ideal candidate will have several years of experience assembling, preparing and reviewing critical closing documents for residential mortgage loans as well as coordinating and overseeing the loan closing process.
The Stronghill Capital Resi Express business segment originates mortgage loans secured by 1-8 unit residential, mixed use or short term rental properties. These loans are originated for borrowers who prefer quick and efficient experiences and less burdensome documentation than from bank lenders. Stronghill operates as a lean, adaptable and technology-driven company with a start-up culture that can best serve these borrowers through the constantly changing real estate finance industry.
Requirements
- Ability to close 30+ loans per month during standard business hours.
- Review all documents for any errors and set up files for closing.
- Review all closing details and prepare closing documents, to ensure compliance internal underwriting guidelines, title company requirements and internal processes.
- Ensure that all terms of the loan are met.
- Send the initial Closing Disclosure; balance the CD with title and send closing package.
- Initiate and balance the wire and order from the warehouse bank.
- Work with loan processors, loan officers, and closing attorneys on any outstanding closing conditions required to fund the loan.
- Expertly handle unusual circumstances to alleviate obstacles and proceed with timely loan signing and recording of title/deed.
- Act as an intermediary between all parties in a real estate closing transaction; communicate with borrowers, loan officers, loan processors, and attorneys, to answer questions and resolve any issues.
- Understand and research state-level regulations and differences among mortgage document sets between states
- Coordinate delivery of the closing documents before closing.
- Coordinate the smooth running of the loan closing proceedings and ensure all loans are closed and funded in a timely manner.
- Resolve any post-closing issues immediately.
- 4+ years of experience in a similar role (closing department for commercial or residential loan closings) or as a real estate paralegal.
- Knowledge and experience with industry vendors such as DocMagic preferred.
- Strong Interpersonal Communication skills, Highly Organized with strong Attention to Detail.
- Entrepreneurial and comfortable with fast-paced, rapidly changing and deadline-based environment.
