The Head of Design at Routable
We are looking for a Head of Design who is excited to own our design language, execution and vision alongside our amazing Product and Engineering leaders. We’re a proud product, design, and engineering company and we want to ensure that design shines in every aspect of our work and product.
The ideal candidate approaches their craft with the humility of a true artist and the passion of a great builder. Product design in B2B payments software is often an afterthought, and we plan to be recognized as the simplest platform with the best brand. You will help us realize this and make it a reality.
The Head of Design will bring a depth of functional product experience, expertise in scaling up design teams, architecting design systems, introducing strategic UX research, a deep level of curiosity with experience in customer development, as well as a proven track record of shipping fantastic product experiences by partnering closely with Product Management and Engineering. They will manage our Product Designers, Brand Design, and UX Researchers, and collaborate closely with our executive team, Product, and Engineering to help guide our roadmap and feature development planning.

Requirements
- Oversee the product design, brand design, and UX research departments as they contribute to the development of our B2B payments platform from vision to implementation
- Develop and execute design systems and strategy in collaboration with marketing, sales, product, engineering, and support teams
- Be responsible for leading a team of product designers through all aspects of the design and software development life cycle. This includes: market needs, vision and strategy, roadmap creation and communication, feature design, feature testing, requirements gathering, functional specification and more
- Own and regularly report on the Design department OKRs
- Dive deep into the details of workflows, graphics, designs, and user profiles while maintaining a broader, strategic view of how our platform fits within a broader B2B payments ecosystem across multiple industries
- Lead and perform market research to identify product design opportunities and quantify the business case for new projects. Prioritize design initiatives focused on growth, usage, and revenue - working with multiple stakeholders
- Leverage market analysis, competitive knowledge, and customer research to define how Routable can maintain the best product design in our industry
- Collaborate with product designers to build a component based reusable design system
