The Protein Chemistry and Biophysical team is an integral part of the Encoded research engine. Our main focus is to provide high quality vectors to support research from drug candidate discoveries to preclinical studies.

We are seeking a driven and highly organized Senior Research Associate to join our Protein Chemistry and Biophysical team. A qualified candidate will be responsible for developing and optimizing protein chemistry and biophysical characterization methods. This individual will collaborate with peers across functions in Quality Control, Process Development and Analytical Development departments.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and optimize protein chemistry and biophysical characterization methods.
  • Support and execute sample analysis using relevant assays to support analytical development and process development.
  • Collaborate with the Quality Control department during feasibility/transferring process.
  • Conduct lab testing, analyze data and review results.
  • Operate under Good Documentation Practice for efficient data management and retrieval.
  • Carefully document procedure and results in electronic notebook
  • Work on multiple projects to meet departmental and organizational goals.

Requirements

  • MSc/BSc in a relevant area of specialization (analytical chemistry, biochemistry, immunology or virology) plus 3+/5+ years of industry experience.
  • Experience in immunoassay development, including but not limited to plate-based ELISA, MSD, Gyrolab and Luminex.
  • Experience in HPLC (SEC, RPLC, IEX) and CE analysis is a plus.
  • Experience in writing SOPs, developmental and technical reports.
  • Experience in working in a GLP environment is desirable.
  • Highly motivated, flexible and independent, yet successful in a group setting.
  • Strong technical skills along with key competencies including attention to detail, meticulous execution of protocol, excellent organizational and interpersonal capabilities.
  • Familiarity with basic statistical analysis tools and applications.
