Art Director, Creative Team - Trello, Confluence, New Ventures (West Coast Remote)

When our offices re-open, we will provide the choice to work from home or return to work in an office unless a job requirement makes it necessary for a particular role to be performed at an Atlassian office.
We are looking for an Art Director who is passionate about people development and collaboration to lead and inspire the work and professional growth of the product marketing designers on the Creative Team.
As an Art Director on the Creative Team, your primary responsibility will be leading and mentoring a team of high-performing visual designers. The team supports brands Trello and Confluence, as well as emerging products within our exciting New Ventures program! As a leader within the Creative Team, you will be instrumental in coaching designers to be excellent communicators, both through words and visuals, and to provide useful feedback to their peers, both which are essential to their success. A meaningful part of this role is being a collaborative partner to the team's large network of stakeholders across the marketing and product teams.
In addition, you will work closely with the Creative Director and other leadership on the team to continue to reinforce alignment and consistency of all projects across the business.To be successful in this role, we'd expect you to:

• Have led a team for 3+ years. You understand and appreciate the importance of the craft and art of people management. This includes examples of how you have shaped a successful team in your past.
• Have 10+ years of hands-on design and creative professional experience. Have a background as a visual designer with a hefty dose of familiarity with web and digital design.
• Have proven experience driving and contributing to product integrated marketing campaign strategy, vision, and execution.
• Show thoughtful facilitation skills and a track record of collaborating with other functions within a cross-functional department.
• Value collaboration and openness with new processes and the change that comes with working in a high-growth environment.
• Be a self-starter with an eye for simple solutions and the ability to step into the customer's shoes.
• Have a growth-mindset and are willing to dig into new territory, asking hard questions along the way.
• Be eager to deliver across the entire design process, not just one aspect such as user research or visual design.
• Experience with building a brand and a deep understanding of what makes iconic and successful brands.
