The Work
  • Manage IT resources to deliver viable technology solutions for the overall SDWP network
  • Responsible for maintaining schedules, costs, and functions for assigned projects
  • Maintain vendor relations for timely acquisition of equipment and services
  • Assist department leadership with budget planning and management
  • Help manage the relationship between IT and functional customer groups and work to provide communication and resolution of issues that may result due to organizational plans, changes or mergers
  • Design and/or implement complex and innovative systems
  • Provide support on any technical issues
  • Make recommendations for the purchase of hardware/software based on analysis and testing
  • Install, configure, integrate, maintain and trouble shoot hardware/software packages
  • Develop and Manage SharePoint and MS Teams strategies and rollout and administration
  • Provide technical training on hardware and software
  • Configure computer systems for secure interactive use, efficiency, and cost effectiveness
  • Manage licensing and maintenance for software
  • Maintain inventory of resources
  • Document and maintain network, data, and security policies and procedures
  • Oversee 3rd party managed services vendor responsible for:
    • Security for network and users
    • Creating user accounts with appropriate rights and security
    • Maintaining network protection against viruses/spam/spyware
    • Managing backup system of network data and files for disaster recovery
    • Monitoring and tuning network performance for optimal use
    • Configuring network servers and peripheral equipment
    • Installing and upgrading server software and hardware
    • Maintaining network printing
    • Providing end user support (Help Desk)
  • Management and Support of Telecommunications, Access Control, and General Facilities
  • Manage cell phone account under Verizon Wireless, billing, support and equipment needs and requests
  • Contribute to and help measure the departments performance against established KPI’s
  • Supervise staff and assist department leadership with providing employee evaluations, goal setting, and learning and professional development.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in related field, or 4-5 years equivalent work experience in similar fields required.
  • At least 2-4 years’ experience managing an IT team required.
  • Advanced knowledge of system administration and utilities in a multi-platform environment
  • Specific knowledge of network topologies, components, and routing protocols
  • Expert technical knowledge of current PC operating systems, hardware, and software
  • Ability to assess workload, available resources, define priorities and delegate duties
  • Ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines
  • Strong troubleshooting skills
  • Experience with O365 Exchange, SharePoint and Teams
  • Excellent writing skills for both technical training documents and policies and procedures
  • Ability to analyze and conceptualize system design to implement technical solutions
  • Knowledge of design methods, development, implementation, and maintenance
  • Ability to work effectively and communicate technical issues to diverse groups
  • Excellent interpersonal skills including patience, diplomacy, flexibility and negotiation techniques
  • Ability to learn new software and hardware
  • Ability to lead and motivate technical staff and maintain confidentiality
