Now, as we’re about to launch a number of exciting new projects, we’re looking for a Bioinformatician to join the team in either our UK or US locations. By using our platform to bridge the gap between data and insight, you will empower biologists to make breakthrough discoveries faster and more efficiently and making a positive impact on the future of society and public health.

We have offices in the Wellcome Genome Centre in Cambridge, WeWorks in London’s Knowledge Quarter, the New York Genome Centre in Manhattan, Station F in Paris and Hyderabad in India.

With the opportunity to make an impact in an emerging field, you’ll be amongst some of the most talented people in the industry, working together to unlock radical innovation by enabling the conversation between microbiome data and the scientist.

You will be responsible for maintaining and extending analysis pipelines, including updates to software and reference databases, as well as identifying and prototyping new analysis components to extend functionality.

Day to day will be focused on collaborating with the wider business, particularly our data science and engineering teams, bringing your curiosity, data focused approach and diligence.

Requirements

You will hold a postgraduate degree in the Life Sciences, Computer Science, Bioinformatics, or similar, or equivalent industry experience.

Strong knowledge of molecular biology and scripting skills in languages such as Python or Perl are required.


You will also have:

  • Experience in analysis of next generation sequence data. Specific experience in analysis of microbiome data is desirable.
  • Unix/Linux command line proficiency.
  • A high level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Good organisational skills, the ability to prioritise different tasks and to manage workloads.
  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
