Mission of Role/Position Summary

Be part of a team of knowledgeable, compassionate, and helpful allies for our clients. This position will support and manage all tactical operations and guide all incident response activities. The Incident Commander will provide general assistance to clients and maintain currency of and compliance with applicable state and federal policies and procedures relating to the public. The ideal candidate will be able to supervise, execute and provide necessary guidance for incident response.

  • Temporary/Seasonal/Regular: Temporary
  • Compensation: $35-$45/hour with overtime potential
  • Benefits Summary: No Benefits
  • Locations: Orlando, FL
  • Travel/Location: On-site position/75%-100% travel.

Position Responsibilities/Role Competencies:

  • Responsible for all tactical operation activities for incident response.
  • Assures safety within the operations functions.
  • Develop or revise the operations portion of the incident response plan.
  • Supervise execution of the emergency response operations planning.
  • Request additional resources as needed.
  • Stay in tune with budgeting and financial statuses as appropriate.
  • Approve resources within the operational scope.
  • Communicate and maintain close contact with agencies and key stakeholders.
  • Brief and assign operations personnel in accordance with the Incident Action Plan
  • Work closely with the Incident Commander to obtain briefings and report any special activities or occurrences.
  • Review resources and provide recommendations for additional needs.
  • Continuously monitor staffing levels and effectiveness of overall EOC resources.
  • Conduct periodic or as needed briefings to other section chiefs and partners.
  • Ensure timely progress towards meeting goals.
  • Plans and oversees operations for special events/sites.
  • Assists with logistics and driving cargo and supplies.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Essential Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree preferred.
  • 3-5+ years’ experience in emergency management
  • 3 + years of operations experience related to incident response.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
  • Computer Proficiency with Microsoft Office Experience
  • Operations experience with special events.
  • Valid Florida Driver's License and ability to pass a background check.

Physical Demands and Work Environment:

  • Must be willing to travel and deploy to client sites for extended periods of time.
  • Mobility required on-site with clients.
  • Ability to work at a computer for long periods of time if needed.
  • Computer Proficient with Microsoft Office Experience.
  • Work environment may not be a typical office setting and requires work outdoors in a variety of weather conditions.
  • Ability to drive safely cargo and supplies.
