Job Description
Spartan Logistics is a third-party logistics (3PL) company headquartered in Columbus, OH. We specialize in a unique logistics model: We own and operate our own warehouses, fleet, forklifts, and other key equipment. We have decades of experience in fast-moving inventory, especially food and beverages, and also are veteran handlers of glass, paper, automotive supplies, and more. With our staff of more than 350, we operate over 3 million square feet of warehouse space strategically placed throughout Ohio, Indiana, South Carolina, Missouri, Texas and Arkansas.
We are currently looking for an experienced Safety amp; Transportation Compliance Administrator. This person will drive compliance accountability through data analysis and regulatory implementation. This Columbus, OH based position reports to the Director of Safety and is accountable to the Safety business unit. Position is flexible and will require a small amount of travel.
This position works Monday Friday from 8am-5pm with occasional overtime (Hours are flexible).
This is an hourly position with a starting pay range from $18.00 - $23.00 per hour, based on experience.
What You'll be Doing as a Safety amp; Transportation Compliance Administrator:
- Maintain Safety department programs
- Helps maintain FMCSA records and reports required by Federal, State and local regulations, driver qualification files and other appropriate records for all FMCSA regulated employees.
- Assist in the maintenance and auditing of driver logs per DOT Hours of Service Regulations.
- Assists the Director of Safety with the maintenance of a variety of spreadsheets and reports; helps track DOT compliance to ensure proper maintenance and implementation of driver requirements per FMCSA regulations.
- Tracking driver training records.
- Administration of Motor Vehicle Accident Recordkeeping.
- Vehicle Procurement Administration.
- Assists in internal DOT compliance site audits.
- Helps serve as a communications liaison between management, supervisors, and employees
- Performs general office functions and clerical duties by use of Microsoft Outlook 365 programs, email, phone, third-party software systems, and in-person communications.
- Willing to learn in the areas of compliance, safety, health, environmental.
- A small amount travel required.
- Maintain Safety department programs.
- May perform other duties as required and assigned.
Requirements
- Good character and integrity!
- Must be detail oriented.
- Experience with Microsoft Office and proficient with Excel.
- Ability to work independently and manage a project from initiation to completion with minimal supervision.
- Excellent Organization skills.
- Transportation experience preferred.
