The Job:
The Production Scheduler is responsible for coordinating and maintaining the finished goods production schedule to assure that company goals for finished goods inventory are met. A key part of this job is facilitating the timely and accurate flow of raw materials required to meet the production schedule by keeping all related data up-to-date in the company’s tracking systems. The Production Scheduler will assure that all lead times and deadlines are met and must be able to adjust the production schedule and related resources effectively when problems in the production process arise. This individual will coordinate with various departments including Procurement, Production, Quality, and Accounting to ensure that all necessary resources are available to efficiently produce finished products.
Responsibilities:
- Develop production and inventory management schedules to support both material and finished good requirements, using all tools and data available;
- Identify current and potential raw material shortages and take responsive action;
- Schedule all tasks along the production workflow;
- Set optimal inventory levels for raw materials, ensuring that supply cycle times are reasonable and cost effective;
- Ensure accuracy of Bills of Material for all finished goods and assembly parts;
- Assign and distribute pick lists for warehouse employees according to schedule;
- Ensure compliance with all internal processes related to this role;
- Ensure all work is performed in compliance with company policies, guidelines, procedures and instructions;
- Perform additional duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
Must have;
- 1-3 years of QuickBooks experience in an inventory management/manufacturing role
- 1-3 years of inventory control experience
- 2-3 years of Production Scheduling in a related industry
- Excellent organizational and decision-making skills
- Strong communication skills
