Job Description

The Territory Manager manages the fleet of vehicles and drivers serving our clients transportation needs in the defined territory. Through planning and preparation, the Territory Manager will oversee the operations of all defined territory division fleet and drivers, including scheduling, communicating service needs and expectations, holding daily driver huddles, ensuring accurate and on time dispatching and handling changes both proactive and reactively. Key responsibilities including training, coaching and supporting a team of drivers to ensure safety and customer service are at the forefront of our service, while partnering with the operations team to hold team members accountable to high levels of service and safety, utilizing KPI reporting, driver score cards and other reporting that help measure the success of our service deliverables.

The Territory Manager is expected to lead by example, exemplifying the TransWest driver safety model and training program while working directly with a team of drivers to ensure our solutions meet our clients’ needs and exceed their expectations to help enhance customer retention.

The Territory Manager role is based out of our Seattle (SODO) bus yard.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

· Ensure the successful day to day operations of all transportation services within assigned territory.

· Develop and lead a team of shuttle drivers that represent the highest level of customer service within your assigned area.

· Manage, plan, schedule, train, coach and direct the activities of on-site shuttle drivers.

· Hold regular meetings with your team, both individual and in group settings to reiterate safety and service expectations.

· Partner with the Driver Trainer to improve driver performance and address areas of concern pertaining to driver safety and customer service.

· Follow up with team members on their driver score cards and KPI reporting ensuring a clear communication on success measurement and opportunities to improve.

· Identify high potential employees to support the organization’s continued growth and individual employee development.

· Conduct on-road observations of drivers to ensure all TransWest driving principles are upheld and exercised continually.

· Responsible for payroll reporting; ensure sign off on hours in timely manner; work closely with the Human Resources Manager to ensure proper wage and hour compliance.

· Responsible for driver and vehicle DOT (Department of Transportation) compliance pertaining to federal and state laws.

· Partner with Fleet Managers on vehicle maintenance (both planned and unplanned) ensuring little to no down time in service.

· Execute a plan for the opening of any newly assigned locations, including but not limited to driver sourcing, training, scheduling, route planning, safety compliance, supply procurement etc.

· Understand, implement, and deliver all requirements that are outlined within the contractual agreement between TransWest and our clients.

· Implement and complete other projects, programs, and initiatives that may arise from the operation of assigned location.

· Develop key relationships with service providers that support shuttle operations and help enhance existing customer satisfaction/retention.

Requirements

POSITION REQUIREMENTS:

· Associate Level Degree or equivalent work experience.

· 2+ Years of supervisory or management experience required.

· Must have a current Driver’s license with a minimum of a Commercial Driver’s license with a P endorsement or be able to obtain within 90 days of start date.

· Must have an active US DOT Medical Card or be able to obtain within 90 days of start date.

· Must have experience running a shuttle program with commercial licensed drivers.
