The Claims Administrator will provide various functions in the management of claims administered by the Third Party Administration department and will assist the claims team by providing support in the servicing of Risk Management clients.

Primary Responsibilities and Duties:

  • Supports assigned Adjusters as part of a team that services specific accounts
  • Distributes and attaches incoming e-mails to the appropriate claim file
  • Enters medical bill payments and vendor fee charges into the system
  • Prints checks, verifies check registers, stuffs and mails payments daily for specific accounts
  • Handles medical only claims by verifying compensability, submitting bills for bill review and re-pricing; uses diary process for follow up and closure
  • Receives and addresses calls from customers regarding payment of bills, status of claims, etc.
  • Processes voids and stop payments
  • Completes status requests from the applicable State Division of Workers Compensation divisions
  • Works closely with team members to make sure all items are processed timely and e-mails and calls answered promptly to assure high level of service
  • Assists as back-up to other associates during vacation or absence

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university, or equivalent experience
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Strong organizational skills
  • Ability to apply mathematical concepts
  • Ability to work successfully in a deadline driven environment
  • Ability to attend social functions for clients and carriers in order to build relationships
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft products (Word, Excel, Outlook, etc.)
  • Working knowledge and comfort level with claims management systems; and comfort working in a paperless environment
