Job Description

We are looking for a Salesforce Marketing Cloud Architect to help our client manage the day-to-day operations, architecture, and support of their Salesforce Marketing Cloud environment. This position will be responsible for ensuring optimal performance of the platform, while proactively adding and enhancing capabilities to meet their business needs. This is a hybrid role - strategic and executional - a balance between system administration, development, ideation, and production work.

You will partner with the Marketing and Product teams to help design improvements, capabilities, and assist with process automation. This includes building complex marketing automation campaigns in Salesforce Marketing Cloud, using Content Builder, Journey Builder, Automation Studio, SF Sales Cloud Connector, and beyond. You will also oversee documentation for technical design and support planning that aligns with security and governance measures.

Your Job Responsibilities Will Be:

  • Oversight of the Salesforce Marketing Cloud platform, including: administration, data integration, training, and process documentation.
  • Stay current on platform releases for Salesforce Marketing Cloud regarding new product roadmaps and create the plan to implement those that provide business value.
  • Campaign automation while applying customization and personalization using Dynamic Content and AMPscript.
  • Work with data teams to maintain flows and monitor health of automations (SQL Activities, Automation Studio)
  • Provide support on production work and campaign execution (Email Studio, Content Studio, Journey Builder)
  • Use Return Path to monitor IP health, proactively identify potential deliverability issues, and identify opportunities to improve inbox deliverability.
  • Create and maintain Data Extensions, Data Filters, update subscriber lists and create segmentation groups.
  • Integrate with other data sources (MS Azure SQL Databases) outside of Salesforce Marketing Cloud to provide an even greater level of personalization and possibilities.
  • Responsible for new or existing Marketing Cloud data sets with appropriate rules and setting up data extensions.
  • Build and manage Automations and subsequent Activities, including filter, advance SQL query including joins and temporary tables, and send email Activities
  • Build and manage multiple data schemas for various audiences in Contact Builder and Data Extensions to be used by Journeys and Automations.
  • Create Journeys that include Data Extension entry sources, Email, and Decision Split flow control.
  • Create journeys using Journey Builder and sync data from Salesforce CRM to Marketing Cloud and back.
  • Coordinate with internal teams to resolve complex automation/data integration issues.
  • Complete rigorous QA checks on every change made within the Marketing Cloud Org.
  • Develop and document efficiencies in current and future processes.
  • Manage sender profiles, user permissions, permission groups, and other system administration tasks.
  • Create and maintain technical documentation and diagrams for all developed solutions

Requirements

Required Qualifications

  • 5+ years of combined professional experience in digital marketing, marketing operations or marketing technology
  • 3+ years deep knowledge and hands-on experience of SFMC from execution of programs, to systems design, database management and administration perspectives, including Journey Builder

Preferred Qualifications
  • Salesforce Marketing Cloud Certification (Marketing Cloud Developer Certification Preferred)
  • Fluency in Marketing Cloud scripting languages (AMPScript) and SQL skills
  • Experience with HTML, CSS, and JavaScript
  • Experienced in advanced segmentation, and data configuration
  • Strong analytical skills and data-driven thinking (campaign metrics)
  • Strong problem-solving and debugging skills
  • Background in data integration work, using APIs (not building)
  • Display effective leadership and team collaboration skills
  • Excellent communication skills (presentation, verbal and written) both with internal team and external vendors
  • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced high-pressure environment and handle multiple priorities at once
  • Exceptional project management skills and attention to detail
  • Understanding of digital advertising eco-system
  • Ability to flourish in a collaborative work environment
  • Up-to-date with the latest trends and standard methodologies in marketing automation
