Position Description:

Galloway is looking for a Landscape Architect for our Denver, CO office. This is a fantastic opportunity for a skilled and passionate self-starter to work directly with local and national land development projects. The candidate will work in a highly collaborative interdisciplinary office environment.The Landscape Architect designs, reviews, and produces plans for public and private projects.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Applies a diverse working knowledge of the principles and practices of landscape architecture in broad areas; uses techniques, theory precepts, and practices of landscape architecture and related sciences and disciplines.
  • As a key team member, provides technical direction over a group of landscape designers and/or functions as a technical specialist, staff advisor, and consultant; uses independent judgment to formulate and develop advanced landscape architectural concepts for a given land/site development or public works-related project or program function.
  • Ability to take a landscape design from concept to construction documents.
  • Conducts constructability reviews or assists in the design/planning/review of other landscape architectural projects assigned to others.
  • Coordinates technical and administrative activities for a project with other disciplines and departments within Galloway.
  • May assist the project manager in preparing the department/division budget, policy implementation, contracts, and other administrative tasks.

Requirements

Education:

  • Bachelor’s in Landscape Architecture from a four-year, board-approved curriculum.
  • Registered Landscape Architect in the State of Colorado preferred but NOT required

Experience:

  • Typically, three to eight years of site planning and landscape design experience after educational requirements.
  • Landscape Irrigation Design experience preferred but not required.

Qualifications:

  • Possesses an advanced understanding of the principles and practices of landscape architecture.
  • Possesses advanced working knowledge of approval and permitting processes for landscape
  • architecture.
  • Possesses an advanced understanding of landscape architectural principles, codes, and standards in landscape architectural design.
  • Is proficient in programs used in designing landscape architectural systems and preparing reports (e.g., AutoCAD, SketchUp, and Photoshop).
  • Possesses the ability and desire to train team members on programs used in designing landscape architectural systems.
  • Possesses advanced working knowledge of disciplines involved in the development process, and integrates and coordinates landscape architectural work into required approvals.
  • Demonstrates technical writing skills needed for reports and letters.
  • Understands client goals, and uses effective communication and leadership skills to manage project schedules and budgets.
