Job Description
Skyports, established in 2017, is the leading owner and operator of vertiports to enable electric air taxi operations in a number of cities around the world, with the first commercial flights planned for 2023. We also operate a logistics service, Delivery by Skyports, which provides cargo drone delivery solutions for the medial, logistics and e-commerce sectors and is operating for the likes of the National Health Service (NHS) and Royal Mail in the UK.

Role overview
We have an exciting new opportunity for an Infrastructure Manager, Los Angeles to manage the end-to-end process of vertiport location identification, site acquisition through to completion, planning, permitting and construction in the region. There is significant growth potential to manage a rapidly expanding portfolio of projects and responsibilities across the West Coast of the US.
This role is well-suited for a motivated candidate who wants to be a trailblazer in the emerging advanced air mobility industry. The ideal candidate will have a passion for building personal relationships, executing big projects, and finding creative solutions. We need someone who does not back down from challenges and has a strong desire to innovate and learn.
What you will do
- Develop and execute on our infrastructure and vertiport rollout strategy in the US
- Identify and secure sites through commercial arrangements with landlords
- Project manage live vertiport development projects
- Work with planning and other regulatory authorities to secure permissions and consents
- Engage with local stakeholders to address concerns regarding the impact of vertiports on the community
- Liaise with vehicle manufacturers on infrastructure requirements
- Represent Skyports at meetings and events, including delivering presentations
- Contribute to commercial agreements, including identifying, applying and executing on grant and government funding applications
- Contribute and support the development of internal documentation such as operating manuals, ConOps, and vertiport manuals
- Contribute to and support the maturation of our vertiport development best practices, including terminal design and electrification
- Report to our Head of Americas, based in Boston, and work closely with our Head of Vertiport Planning, based in London, who manages vertiport development for the business
Requirements
Qualifications
- At least 5 years experience in a customer- or client-facing role in real estate or aviation fields
- Action-orientation and initiative to identify and cultivate potential real estate and infrastructure partners for vertiport sites
- Proven ability to plan, lead and manage complex projects and concurrent work-streams across multiple business functions, many with tight deadlines and competing priorities
- Excellent written and oral communication skills to execute on our infrastructure projects, and to build strong networks and relationships
- Located in Los Angeles region, with ability to make site visits across the metro area and flexibility for occasional domestic travel
- Fluency in English
