Job Description
We are looking for team members who share a passion for excellence and who infuse enthusiasm into everything they do. Successful candidates can engage young kids and parents, laugh, multitask, and would enjoy spending a Saturday assisting our full-time teachers engage groups of up 4-10 students at our beautiful eco-friendly hands-on science learning center. On-demand babysitters, nannies, artists, students, teachers, and stay-at-home parents who just want to be around kids 2-10 forum to 20 hours a week would love this opportunity. Additional hours are available for candidates both Afterschool and daytime for our classes, camps, and parties.
Kids Science Labs, the world leader in hands-on retail science education, has a need for candidates to provide an exceptional guest experiences to our families who attend Kids Science Labs for classes, parties, and camps.You must be willing to travel to at least two centers (usually a few miles apart), know how to laugh, and be genuinely interested in supporting students with in-person activities. You will read stories, execute our safety protocols, take kids on nature walks, and also help to clean, prepare, and bring our environment to life in our learning lab.
Team Members/Teaching Assistants will support the learning environment on Mon - Fri for up to 20 hours a week @ $15/hr. You must be willing to go to at least two of our centers in Chicago (Roscoe Village, Lincoln Park, South Loop) or North Suburbs (Northbrook/Vernon Hills) and be available throughout the summer, but in particular early June and late August. This role involves a significant amount of time engaged with teachers and students, so successful candidates must enjoy engaging in a fun environment with kids PreK - 4th grade.
- Do whatever it takes to ensure kids walk away having been engaged while learning core science concepts that help them have a context of their world
- Prepare materials and classrooms for classroom activities

COVID-19 considerations:
We have a number of health protocols in place including: health screenings, temperature checks, mask requirements, social distancing, cleaning protocols, small groups, and frequent hand washing.

Successful KSL Candidates must:
- Enjoy providing a warm, welcoming greeting to all families
- Be approachable and friendly, and able to remove conflict in a professional and courteous manner
- Have previous customer service experience
- Be highly responsible and dependable
- Maintain professional appearance and communication at all times
- Have open availability on Weekends
- General mobility and movement around our learning environment to give tours to our new families, including kneeling to engage kids, bending, and lifting up to 30 pounds as packages arrive
- Not be afraid to kneel and engage kids, make mistakes, and ask questions
