XQ Institute is the nation’s leading organization dedicated to rethinking the high school experience so that every student graduates ready to succeed in life. We work in communities throughout the country, with individual schools and entire school systems, to help them dream big about what high school could be, turn their innovative ideas into action, and create more rigorous and equitable schools. To help us meet our ambitious goals, XQ is seeking a part-time or full-time Summer Learning Associate (Associate) to support catalyzing, curating, synthesizing, and translating education innovation insights and learnings for the field for consumption across multiple stakeholders.


The Role

The mission for the Associate is to support the School Success Team by facilitating and coordinating the relationship between XQ Institute and the XQ schools network. You will be responsible for maintaining positive and timely communications; facilitating resource delivery and completion of requests; and information gathering and organizing about the XQ schools. All of this is to coordinate support to the schools and help gather informed insights to XQ that help define our engagement strategies. XQ is seeking a motivated, enthusiastic, highly organized, and detail-oriented individual.

You, with the School Success Team will have a direct and immediate impact on the success of the XQ school cohort by leading administrative support and overall coordination; contributing ideas and building authentic relationships; as well as, working cross-functionally with the entire organization.

Requirements

Key Responsibilities
  • Knowledge Capture for Lessons Learned, Storytelling, amp; Communications
    • Capture bright spots and lessons learned from various sources, including Meltwater, Press Clips, XQ school newsletters, and social media posts.
    • Synthesize data and stories from the XQ school cohort across knowledge capture reports.
    • Plan, contribute to and deliver upon short and long-term projects related to data and knowledge capture, education products, and virtual and in-person programming.
    • Utilize knowledge capture findings to generate a bi-weekly community connections newsletter.
    • Contribute to the preparation of materials for internal and external meetings, for example, develop templates for illustrating the work of the XQ school cohort to key stakeholders.
  • School Success Administrator and Operations
    • Support multiple projects led by the School Success team
    • Coordinate visits and meetings for multiple parties, including XQ staff, consultants, schools, and partners. Plan for events.
    • Lead the coordination and processes for finalizing logistics, materials, and follow-up to execute purposeful and efficient meetings, in-person and virtual, for all parties mentioned above as well as potential partners to track deliverables, next steps, resources, and more.
    • Contribute to grant management, budget, and planning processes on behalf of the schools.
  • School Relationship-Building amp; Case Management
    • Support the School Success Team’s authentic efforts in building supportive working relationships with all schools by being timely, responsive, and solutions-oriented.
    • Manage communications with 18 schools, including capturing and maintaining lessons learned and contributions to the field.
    • Help develop and modify tools, surveys and information systems, and processes to enable the School Success Team to capture and maintain the most accurate information as well as a historical log on all 18 schools.
    • Coordinate and support the deliverables and next steps for requests made by the XQ Schools and XQ, by gathering and distributing information, responding rapidly to inquiries, researching and organizing information, and drafting summative reports/memos.


Qualifications
  • Experience: 2-4 years of experience in education and/or hands-on experience leading and/or assisting in client management, developing and maintaining processes and tools that enable a team to accomplish deliverables.
  • Education Perspective: Has worked in a school and/or school district setting and understands the complexities of how schools function.
  • Tool Development/Creation: Capacity and interest to develop tools and/or work with consultants to develop tools to support the success of the XQ schools
  • Cross-Functional Vision: Values and prioritizes working amongst a diverse team that collaborates across projects and needs to ensure the best product/decisions/strategies for XQ’s constituents, partners, schools, and more, including keeping the high-level view of impact that takes time to produce.
  • Education: Bachelor’s degree required. Candidates without a Bachelor’s degree will not be considered.
