We seek a results-focused, innovative, customer-centric well-qualified individual to join our talented team. Based out of our Torrington Connecticut location, you will be expected to develop and implement Plant Production Schedules that meet demand by utilizing forecasts including historical demand, expected growth and new product sales to determine make-to-stock and make-to-order needs, set and maintain appropriate safety stock levels, adjust for production capacities, and engage MRP to determine raw materials needs. You will:
- Drive improvements in product lines shipped on time against production capabilities by creating and organizing a daily production schedule that optimizes capacity utilization, raw materials, WIP, and finished goods inventory levels
- Meet Lines Shipped on Time (LSOT) objectives by integrating and managing input from multifunctional teams, including Production, Customer Service, Quality, and Manufacturing Engineering to optimize production schedules
- Maximize utilization of the Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) toolby continuous analysis of the ERP supply planning module, and by the development and integration of the ERP system or third-party software
- Balance supply capabilities to meet demand forecasts by managing inventory controls and resource utilization to ensureschedules weigh material needs and capacity constraints, and by addressing fluctuations in customer demand
- Coordinate the supply planning process by effectively establishing plant loads, conducting production schedules, and by liaising with the Supply Chain Team to coordinate and execute replenishment systems
- Execute inventory management best practices by managing cycle counts and reconciliations to maintain inventory integrity, and by determining internal and vendor reliabilities and capabilities, allocating resources accordingly, and managing inventory levels to compensate for demand and supply fluctuations
- Improve asset management by utilizing Lean Manufacturing and Six Sigma principles in developing and streamlining processes that deliver improved inventory planning and set clear targets and deliverables
- Share planning, inventory and resource availability with Production managers by maintaining high visibility of goals and initiatives, and by continuous refinement of resource capacity data and underlying assumptions
Requirements
You should have:
- A Bachelor of Science in a related discipline
- 3+ years in the Operations and Manufacturing environment
- 3+ years of experience in a Planner and Scheduler role
- Excellent knowledge and experience working with ERPs; JD Edwards Enterprise-1 preferred
- Demonstrated knowledge and practice in Lean Manufacturing initiatives and Six Sigma preferred
- Excellent communications and interpersonal skills; strong analytical and financial acumen
