Who We’re Looking For

We are looking for an experienced SEO and CRO expert and web strategist to own site performance, ensuring a high level of discoverability and user experience. This is a great opportunity to have an immediate impact while owning site optimization as part of a fast growing, nimble, well-funded startup. You’ll work alongside our Head of Growth, collaborate with cross-functional teams, and contribute to the growth of Esme Learning in a meaningful way.


Key Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the content strategy for the Esme blog: determining which topics we choose to cover by conducting content competitor gap analyses, interviewing internal stakeholders, aligning blog content with Esme’s strategic initiatives, and identifying new traffic and lead opportunities via SEO/keyword research.
  • Instill SEO and content optimization best practices across all outputs on all Esme touchpoints
  • Execute on the lead generation strategy set by marketing leadership by analyzing and reporting on website, landing page, article-level blog traffic and conversion rates to identify opportunities to deploy compelling offers and CRO tests
  • Run CRO tests across the website to test new placement types and concepts
  • Create and monitor reports to track and quantify traffic, lead, and conversion rate pacing in addition to website metrics like time on site, bounce rate, etc. in Google Analytics
  • Regularly research and introduce new content marketing tactics that could benefit Esme traffic and acquisition goals
  • Monitor SEO health and execute technical site audits to enhance SEO performance and functionality; provide on-page recommendations to tech, product, and copy teams across core pages, blog, etc.
  • Perform SEO audits of new course/page/product launches to ensure SEO best practices
  • Competitive search analysis to identify winners, losers, contenders and search results features driving non-branded traffic
  • Pull traffic, rank, and conversion reporting from platforms and present to teammates with clear insights and takeaways
  • Monitor Google Search Console to identify problems and ensure technical compliance--as well as industry trends/algorithm changes to identify new opportunities
  • Assist with building landing pages in Shopify (Shogun) and forms in Klaviyo
  • A voracious learner who can keep up with the wide breadth and fast pace of the Digital Marketing amp; Ecommerce spaces
  • An analytical and data-driven marketer who can uncover new insights from Google Analytics and other platforms and translate those into actionable improvements that result in increased organic traffic
  • A conversion-obsessed growth marketer. Not only do you love seeing gains in traffic amp; owning competitive SERP terms, but you know that means nothing unless you’re driving conversions, too

Requirements

  • Must have 3-5 years of conversion rate optimization and analytics experience
  • Experience with analytical tools such as Google Analytics, Google Tag Manager, Google Optimize, Ahrefs, SEMRush, GSC, etc. to analyze organic search/site performance make specific data-driven recommendations
  • Advanced understanding of SEO strategies, and technical obstacles that would hinder search engine bot crawling and indexing and SEO editorial best practices
  • Ability to translate between technical and non-technical partners and stakeholders, and helping to weigh the impact of technical SEO work on UX
  • Seasoned multi-tasker who can deliver under tight deadlines and fast pace
  • Strong knowledge of of HTML and JavaScript and website analytics practices (Google Analytics, and ideally Google Tag Manager)
  • Excellent digital analytics knowledge you have a proven track record in using data to enhance marketing strategies and understanding of attribution/tracking
