Forklift Driver / Material Handler Position Summary:
The Material Handler is responsible for inspecting, validating, and checking-in inbound materials in an efficient and timely manner, processing inbound returns, and filling transfer orders.
Forklift Driver / Material Handler Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Inspect, validate, and check-in inbound materials (physically/systematically).
- Validate accuracy of material information against bills of lading, invoices, purchase orders, internal transfers and other material movement documentation.
- Work with leadership team to prioritize movement of inbound materials from dock to designated storage locations.
- Process inbound returns, validating contents and RGA numbers.
- Reject damaged materials, record shortages, and work with team members to rectify the damages and shortages.
- Read work orders or process verbal instructions to determine work assignments and material and equipment needs.
- Fill transfer orders for various departments.
- Move freight, stock, and other materials to and from storage and production areas by hand, hand truck, forklift, or lift truck.
- Attach identifying tags to containers or mark containers with identifying information.
- Record number of units handled and moved, using a computerized inventory system.
- Accurately maintain computer records of all materials received and consumed on a daily basis.

Forklift Driver / Material Handler Education and/or Experience:
- High School Diploma (or GED or High School Equivalence Certificate)
- 2+ years’ experience in a warehouse and/or manufacturing environment
- 1+ years’ experience operating forklifts or other motorized equipment
- Experience with computerized inventory systems preferred
Forklift Driver / Material Handler Other Skills and Abilities:
- Ability to multitask and meet deadlines
- Ability to follow instructions, maintain focus, and keep your work area organized
- Knowledge of basic inventory control procedures and computerized inventory systems
- Computer proficiency
- Ability to operate hand trucks, forklifts, and lift trucks
