The Hose Technician Level 1 is responsible for all aspects of hose assembly, quality control, packaging, tagging and kitting.
Specific responsibilities may include:
- Fabricates Hose assemblies as per customer specifications.
- Fabricates and identifies Hydraulic hose assemblies.
- Calibrates and resets hydraulic hose crimpers.
- Measures and calibrates hose ends on permanent style fittings.
- Uses digital calipers to determine crimp quality and integrity.
- Fabricates hose assemblies using the reusable style hose fittings.
- Accurately measures and sets phase angle orientation on hydraulic hose assemblies, permanent and reusable styles.
- Provides customer sales counter service as needed for parts and service operations.
- Maintains good technical skills and upkeep in training within the fluid connector business.
- Operates hose cut-off machine.
- Works safely at all times. Adheres to all applicable safety policies. Complies with all company policies, procedures and standards.
Requirements
Education and Training
- High school diploma or G.E.D.
- Technical school certificate or associate’s degree a plus.
- Experience as described below may be accepted in lieu of education.
Experience
- Up to two (2) years of experience in hydraulic hose assembly.
- Education as described above may be accepted in lieu of experience.
- Experience working in an ISO 9001 environment a plus.
Knowledge and Skills
- Good communication skills.
- Excellent interpersonal relations skills.
- Good physical skills on equipment and an aptitude for manual work.
- Solid equipment and parts knowledge.
- Warehousing training in a distribution, manufacturing, or dealership environment.
- Knowledgeable on shipping methods and procedures.
Physical and Safety Requirements
- Able to talk, hear, and use hands to finger, handle, or feel.
- Able to stand, walk, sit, and bend, 8 10 hours per day.
- Able to regularly lift and/or move up to 50 lbs.
- Able to use close vision, distance vision, depth perception, and adjustment of focus.
- Able to pass a drug test.
- Able to pass a Motor Vehicle Records check.
- Exposure to a production environment.
