Purpose: The role of the Supply Chain Manager will be to lead the company’s efforts in regards to the optimal sourcing and purchasing of both raw materials and purchased finished goods. The Supply Chain Manager will partner with internal and external key stakeholders to ensure the company maintains adequate levels of inventory required to support our current and future sales aspirations.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with Planning, Marketing, Manufacturing, Product Development, and external vendors in the successful execution of the company’s strategy, sales / cost targets, Samp;OP process and new product development.
- Determine and measure key supply chain KPIs.
- Identify process bottlenecks and improvements in a timely manner.
- Lead the global sourcing effort.
- Assist in the negotiation of contracts, which include but are not limited to, finding and approving new vendors and visiting vendors to improve quality and service.
- Oversee the company’s relationships with freight forwarders and transportation companies to ensure best routes and rates.
- Ensure purchase orders are placed accurately and on a timely basis with the proper delivery schedules to support the inventory planning process and product availability.
- Verify accurate receiving entries, assist as needed in physical counts of inventory and assist in reconciling inventory discrepancies.
- Oversee the review and resolution of inventory problems throughout the year.
- Oversee the determination and maintenance of order points for raw materials and expedite raw material orders when necessary.
- Oversee and develop the purchasing and logistics staff as required.
- Advise as to potential changes in the costs of material.
- Research different ways and products to help improve and/or maintain quality, lower costs, and/or improve delivery.
- Ensure all legal and regulatory requirements are met within responsible functions.
- Continually participate in additional training related to the job.
Requirements
Required Experience amp; Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree (B.A. / B.S. / B.B.A) from a four-year college or university in Business Management, Supply Chain or Procurement related disciplines.
- 5+ years of experience in a related supply chain, sourcing, or purchasing role.
- Experience with numerous functions within the supply chain (ie. Purchasing, sourcing, manufacturing, planning, logistics, etc)
- Experience with continuous improvement methodologies (ie. Lean Six Sigma) a PLUS
