Job Description

If you have skills in specimen management or phlebotomy, here is your chance to participate in the daily life of a health sciences lab, one of the most successful advanced testing service providers in the immunology field. Involved in more than 15 SARS-CoV-2 vaccine developments in partnership various companies and prestigious NGOs such as the Gates Foundation and CEPI, we also proudly serve the needs of our clients in fields such as influenza, meningitis, malaria, or HPV and oncology. The Lab Inventory Specialist (formally Specimen Management Technician) is a full-time position with excellent benefits.

Responsibilities:

  • Receive incoming lab specimens. Process samples into our lab system and schedule by inputting data and numbering, or otherwise accessioning samples.
  • Learn specific details of specimen processing steps that support pharmaceutical studies, diagnostic studies, and related laboratory work.
  • Learn and apply the procedures and documentation for removing and replacing frozen specimens, freezer maintenance, temperature alarm validations, cleanliness, and recording of inventory.
  • Learn and apply the procedures for freezer maintenance, including recording temperatures, performing routine temperature alarm validations, cleanliness, proper location of samples, and recording of inventory.

Requirements

  • Experience in inventory management strongly preferred, in a manufacturing, logistics, laboratory, or similar environment; specimen management experience preffered.
  • Exceptionally strong attention to detail.
  • Working knowledge of computer-aided applications for data entry and communications, data entry screen layouts, and common office productivity software.
  • Sufficient math skills to record numerical data and compute sums and fractions.
  • Ability to convey technical concepts with peers in a work team and to exercise courtesy with visitors.
  • Sufficient ambulatory ability to move to-and-from receiving, lab, and storage areas.
