As Chief Designer, you will play a leadership role in taking the user experience design of our core products to new heights through novel and engaging UI, interaction and visual designs. You will be working with highly experienced UX teams and stakeholders, while spearheading system-level design strategies, design languages and delivering core design concepts for the major releases of ColorOS platform for the smart device ecosystems, including smart phones and connected devices.
RESPONSIBILITIES
• Draw insights from business, technology and users, generate compelling signature design concepts. (e.g. visual design and interaction schemes) for the major smartphone UI releases.
• Define guiding principles and design language, Champion the delivery of key UI flows and elements. Summarize and present systematic and convincing narratives to product executives and stakeholders.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, champion the user-centered design process, through researching user journey, storyboarding, wireframing, prototyping, validation, etc.
• Lead and mentor designers, leverage resources to achieve design objectives. Seek to contribute to intellectual properties.
Requirements
• Strong portfolio that demonstrates compelling visual and interaction digital design skills at product or system level, with significant impact on the product success.
• A fast learner, with good awareness of new technologies and trends. Proficient in discovering opportunities and actively integrate them into new design concepts.
• Expert knowledge in design tools (e.g. Sketch, Adobe tools), for independent concept creation as well as leading a design team.
• Working knowledge of user-centered design for effective collaboration with researchers and stakeholders.
• Strong critical and system thinking skills. with acute insights into valuable design opportunities.
• Strong oral and written communication skills, experience working with high-level decision makers.
• 10+ years of experience in digital design. Experience in Android system design and/or smart personal device design is a big plus.
• Team work spirit, collaborative and comfortable in working with global teams with multi-cultural background.
• Chinese language skills are NOT required.
