Job Description

The Opportunity

Join a rapidly growing team led by experienced technical founders with a market-leading technology product suite. We are searching for a highly-motivated colleague with one (1) to two (2) years of experience to join as a Full-Stack Engineer to work across our products as we continue to scale. This is a great opportunity to learn cutting-edge technologies in use on a production stack at enterprise scale, translating client needs into quality solutions.

We are seeking a colleague who is excited about solving a variety of different user-facing challenges day-to-day and delivering high-quality solutions, in addition to enhancing our overall product and process standards. This encompasses both frontend and backend work, as well as data manipulation and similar.

In this multifaceted role, you might one day be optimizing the performance of an API endpoint or implementing a new frontend feature; another you could be working with our Data Operations team to generate useful insights into client information. Our engineers work with a diverse array of languages and technologies (including GraphQL, Node.js, React, Redux, Ruby/Rails, some Python and Go, etc.), making it possible to find many growth paths.

At Chronograph, engineers work closely with our product and design teams to create world-class user experiences. You should care about software design and have a very strong technical foundation to build from. We are looking for candidates who are inspired by continuing to upskill as a developer while consistently delivering solutions to solve both technical and process challenges. The Chronograph engineering team is centered around learning, knowledge sharing, and both personal and team development.

Requirements

You will be successful in this role if you have:

  • One (1) to two (2) years of professional development experience with modern languages. (Please note: recent bootcamp graduates will not be considered without the minimum prior professional development experience)
  • A passion for maintainable, readable, stable, and well organized code
  • Exceptional attention to detail
  • Professional experience developing SaaS applications; extra points for finance-oriented or enterprise solutions
  • Familiarity with and / or exposure to API development and management
  • Experience with relational database design and development
  • Knowledge of and experience with ES6 / 7, Node.js, React, Redux, GraphQL, and other modern JS tools and paradigms; experience with Ruby / Rails and / or similar backend frameworks desired but not required
  • Strong communication skills and a keen ability to distill complex requests and communications into technology concepts
  • Ability to work both individually and collaboratively to deliver results in a fast-paced startup environment
  • Positive attitude, sense of humor, and creativity
  • Deep curiosity and motivation to continue to develop as a programmer and technologist
