Job Description

Parallel Employment Group in partnership with API Heat Transfer are seeking qualified candidates to fill 1st and 2nd shift positons. These positions are direct hire with API. We are seeking candidates looking to expand their skillset in a fast-moving work environment. These positions are direct hire with API. We are looking for a skilled Assembler to connect parts into more complex components. This position is responsible for the assembly of component parts required to manufacture the core section of the heat exchangers. You will ensure all parts fit correctly while assembling and are suitable for the final product. You will use your hands or machines to do the job with greater precision. You must have good technical knowledge and possess great manual dexterity for the assemble position. Ability to read instructions represented in manuals, drawings, schematics etc. and follow them with precision is extremely important while assembling the units. The goal is to produce complex outputs by assembling smaller components.

Responsibilities

1. Set up all components required to build heat exchangers as indicated on blueprints. Locate frames, shims header bars, internals and all other components and transport to easel.

2. Assemble heat exchangers from blueprints to the required specifications. Beginning with a bottom frame, the operator will layer, or stack all of the necessary components needed to build a core. Use of a square and tape measure is necessary to ensure the easel is square. Once all components are in place, the core is banded, measured and stamped for identification.

3. Responsible to ensure that a 1st piece inspection is done by another Stacker. This is required on the first core of every order to ensure quality. The completed cores are loaded onto a cart to await the brazing process. A manual lift may be required for moving large cores.

4. Ensure proper identification of completed cores and complete Log Stacking Router sheets.

5. Comply with all of the ISO 9001 Quality standards, policies and procedures of API Heat Transfer.


Requirements

  • Technical knowledge and ability to read blueprints, drawings etc.
  • Ability in using tools (e.g. clamps) and machines (e.g. presses)
  • Good understanding of quality control principles

  • Proven experience as assembler
  • Good communication skills (verbal and written)
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and physical condition
  • High school diploma; Higher degree from a technical school will be appreciated
