Job Summary:
We are looking for an early-career accountant to supplement the current accounting team on a broad variety of accounting activities. The right candidate will gain significant experience in accounting practice as well as business principles and execution.
To be successful, you should be adaptable, curious, and reliable with an accounting degree and a firm understanding of accounting principles. Prior experience is preferred but not required. This position will report to the controller and have exposure to other leaders in the company.
Job Duties:
- Contribute to monthly, quarterly, and annual close activities
- General ledger, fixed asset, and inventory accounting
- Prepare journal entries
- Work with the business to create sales and purchase invoices
- Monitor accounts payable and receivable
- Review and explain monthly balance sheet, income, and cash flow statements
- Reconcile vendor statements and resolve all differences monthly
- Track project costs and inventory control
- Identify and class charges to appropriate work-site and job / project
- Accounting cross functional support
- Expense report administration
- Comply with financial policies and regulations
Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree in accounting or finance required
- Knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite required
- Firm understanding of basic accounting principles required
- Valid work authorization in the United States required
- Must be able to push, pull, and lift a 25lbs or more at a time required
- Must be able to sit, stand, and walk for 4 hours or more at a time required
- Able to pass hair follicle drug test, alcohol, driving, physical, and background check required
- Organized, reliable, and attentive to detail preferred
- Adaptable, curious, and growth-oriented preferred
- Up to three years’ experience in accounting preferred
- One plus years’ experience in oil and gas industry finance preferred
- Progress toward CPA preferred
- Microsoft Dynamics Business Central experience preferred
