Job Summary

The Industrial Automation and Network Specialist will provide support to the Operations team with troubleshooting and improving existing systems as well as provide expertise in new system designs. The ideal candidate will have experience in Rockwell/Allen Bradley PLCs and network equipment, Ignition SCADA systems, databases, and other common industrial automation equipment.

Job Duties:

  • Collaborate with Computer Engineers, Process Engineers, Automation Technicians, and Operators to troubleshoot device and network issues in a running production environment
  • Review existing systems and help to troubleshoot and debug code and HMI pages
  • Provide technical expertise to the Engineering Team on designing and building new network installations
  • Oversee the system-wide SCADA system and provide support to the Operations Team
  • Keep track of software and firmware revisions of network equipment, configuration files, and network drawings
  • Be able to modify existing HMI pages as well as create new pages that follow the same style and layout
  • Review existing network systems and make necessary improvements to ensure a secure network
  • Configure and manage local servers for use in our SCADA system
  • Identify and demonstrate technology solutions
  • Travel to site to support start-up and commissioning of new projects

Requirements

  • Bachelor of Science in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or other related degree required
  • 1-5 years of experience in the Oil and Gas or another Industrial environment required
  • 1-5 years of experience with Allen Bradley PLCs and equipment required
  • 1-5 years of experience with Ignition by Inductive Automation required
  • Able to read, interpret, and write code in common industrial automation languages including Ladder Logic (LD), Functional Block Diagram (FBD), Structured Text (ST), and Python Scripting required
  • Familiar with Ethernet IP communication protocols including ring and star network layouts, VLANS, and other common industrial networking topics required
  • Familiar with MODBUS TCP/IP communication protocols required
  • Ability to identify and demonstrate technology solutions required
  • General knowledge of system architecture and network hierarchy of solutions including IT systems, edge computing (Stratus Servers), and Information Systems required
  • Willing to travel approximately 25% of the time for projects and operations support required
  • Authorized to work in the U.S. required
  • Ability to pass hair follicle drug test, driving, alcohol, and criminal background checks required
  • Valid US driver’s license required
