Job Description

HyperVelocity Consulting, a fast-growing IT and Project Management consulting firm and software reseller, is looking for a Senior Engagement Manager in a fully remote position. This person will be an integral part of our team, driving the delivery of our services and serving as a bridge between our customers, the engineering team, and the sales team. You will ensure that after a service package is sold, that proper handoff is made between sales and the engineering specialists and that the customers are onboarded and services are delivered with excellence and satisfaction.

We are looking for a Senior Engagement Manager to build positive relationships with clients during projects. You’ll be the assigned clients’ first point of contact, ensuring that our customers remain satisfied with our services. To succeed in this role, you’ll need to communicate well and multi-task under tight deadlines. Experience in sales and customer service is an asset in this position. Responsibilities
  • Accurately translate statements of work into an actionable project plan with the assistance of the engineering team.
  • Ensuring the HyperVelocity staff on engagements as well as the customers have all the appropriate details and have the same expectations so that satisfaction is high.
  • Coordinate the successful structure of engagements, including ensuring that the lead engineers on projects are driving kick-off meetings and other essential customer meetings and delivering the appropriate documentation and training.
  • Working with leadership to match the right team members to engagements to ensure successful customer results and high morale among the team.
  • Follow up with customers after the ending of engagements to survey for strengths, weaknesses, opportunities and problems.
  • Coordinate and report on post-mortem reviews of engagements and any emergent problems after resolution.
  • Coordinate with operations on billing, especially for milestone and fixed-bid engagements.
  • Review contractor invoices and ensure contractor hours match client billings
  • Skillfully negotiate and resolve deadlines, scope changes, and scheduling conflicts with poise and leadership
  • Identify technical and logistical risks, remove blockers, and solve impediments efficiently and creatively
  • Align project tracking against finances for revenue recognition, billing, costs, expenses, etc.
  • Ensure that contract terms and conditions are met
  • Identify upselling and cross-selling opportunities
  • Address customer issues with speed and efficiency
  • Work with sales teams to generate new business
  • Prepare reports on project performance

Requirements

  • At least 3-5 years of professional experience in similar roles
  • Excellent customer service skills - this is a customer facing role
  • Ability to stay calm under pressure
  • You are a curious person, willing to ask questions and help us figure out how to improve our processes
  • Extremely detail oriented, patient, organized with the ability to juggle shifting priorities and track multiple efforts at once
  • Ability to handle many incoming tasks in an manageable, organized and prioritized fashion
  • Experience working with Quickbooks

Basic Requirements:

  • You are legally authorized to work in the US (we cannot sponsor visas)
  • You will agree to security and background checks

Bonus Points for:

  • You’ve previously worked for an IT or professional services consulting firm, or a software reseller
  • If you’ve worked with any of the Atlassian products (Jira and Confluence specifically) or Gusto or Bench before
  • Experience working with Sales and Sales Teams
  • Proven experience as an Engagement Manager
  • Project management experience
  • Background in sales and customer service is a plus
  • Strong organizational and multitasking skills
