Reporting to the VP, Human Resources, the Human Resources Specialist will be responsible for the accuracy and execution of all employee data and everyday HR operations. This is a fast-paced, high exposure, hands-on role to help scale Single Digits growth.
Responsibilities:
- Help to prepare bi-weekly, multi-state, domestic payroll
- Ensure and maintain accurate and timely employee records within HRIS, including new hires, terminations and employee changes
- Provide support and guidance to maintain compliance with federal, state, and local employment laws and regulations
- Respond to employee inquiries or direct to the appropriate HR resource
- Assist with HR compliance items, such as 401k audit, 401k testing, payroll and tax
- Provide frequent HR KPIs
- Assist with HR projects and strategic initiatives
- Be creative and find new ways to be more efficient and streamline processes
- Strengthen and improve employee experience programs
- Work collaboratively with team members on a variety of special projects and requests.
- Follow up with Covid-19 compliance
- Help with recruitment: post, update and remove job postings, update our hiring plan, source candidates, and schedule/coordinate interviews
- Assist with onboarding of new hires with regards to electronic file set-up, background checks, sending welcome notices, build out of buddy/mentor program and department overviews, etc.
- Respond to employment verification requests that come in via email/phone
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree or the equivalent combination of education, training and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills have been acquired
- 2-4 years of experience working in a busy HR department
- Payroll experience is a plus
- Experience working with ATS and HR systems is preferred, Workable and Paylocity is a plus
- Must place a strong focus on customer service and act with a high level of integrity, professionalism and discretion
- Strong communication skills, with a proven ability to deliver messages with composure and tact
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information with discretion
