Detroit Labs is looking for experienced Technical Delivery Leads to join our OnSite team for an exciting new project. As an OnSite Technical Delivery Lead, you’ll work embedded on the clients’ team remotely and play an important role in leading the development of products and software used by the masses. You will combine project management, client management, scrum leadership, and business analyst responsibilities to steward a project to a successful delivery. You will maintain client and internal team expectations, provide partners with relevant project information, and use metrics to motivate changes as needed. The Delivery Lead assesses and mitigates risk, removes roadblocks for the team, and serves as a primary point of contact throughout a project.
This role will most likely start off remote, but may require returning to an office based in Metro Detroit in the future.

Requirements

  • 4+ years Project Management / Account Management experience, delivery of production software
  • Ability to create and maintain strong organization, task management, and scheduling skills for yourself and the team
  • Ability to decompose large, complex, and vague statements into precise and actionable work items
  • Ability to communicate up and down through an organization to restate and reframe complex concepts to all audiences to build consensus, understanding, and gain acceptance
  • Experience leading and managing using a variety of agile methodologies
  • Able to run productive meetings and coordinate cross-communication to create maximum value
  • Ability to adopt a client perspective (Internal and External)
  • Ability and passion for team leadership, coaching, and people management


Responsibilities
  • Work with business and customer stakeholders to define product objectives and requirements
  • Responsible for writing product specifications, creating and executing against the project plan, proactively mitigating risks, and managing the software development life cycle from inception to production launch and post-production support
  • Work with individual project managers to establish plans and goals for each project. Set objectives, assign tasks, allocate budgets and agree to timetables for achieving intermediate and overall goals
  • Consult with internal departments to understand, define and implement effective solutions including new functionality, feature enhancements and code modifications ensuring the applications technical architecture is optimized for stability, reliability and scalability
  • Provide technical direction through the outlining of stories and sprints to the development team
  • Report up to senior leadership on the progress of projects and the overall program
  • Coach, mentor, develop and lead a development team capable of delivering excellent results through agile iterative development methodologies to solving complex technical and business challenges
  • Possibly participate in the creation of project budgets for the individual project components, and prepares cost estimates for the program based on this information. During the life cycle of a program, manage the program budget to conform to policy, and developing processes for requesting, spending and reporting expenditures and be accountable for the programs financial performance
