The Facilities Supervisor will own facility upkeep, safety, energy cost initiatives and construction projects at our Portland facilities. They will ensure projects are completed quickly, to specification, and on budget. They will be a critical piece of the business ensuring that construction and facility projects do not impede business growth and compliance. The ideal candidate will be able to operate both in the strategic vision and the tactical implementation of projects and will be expected to excel in both. They will be a strong communicator, well-organized, and experienced in managing complex, large-scale construction and site development projects. They are expected to be familiar with all parts of the project, and eager to jump in to get their hands dirty while leading internal crews.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Lead internal construction projects at our Portland location, and scale internal capabilities to perform the work ourselves. Candidates are expected to do the work personally whenever possible and not shy away from physical labor.
  • Manages project scheduling and cost control procedures, general conditions, subcontract documents, drawings and specifications.
  • Coordinates facility construction and buildout projects end-to-end. Manages subcontractors, employees, and suppliers to ensure work gets done efficiently and makes sure the work meets the highest quality standards.
  • Schedules and supervises all labor, equipment, and materials at each job-site.
  • Communicates frequently and efficiently with Project stakeholders and Executives regarding project statuses, and provides technical expertise when providing competitive bids for projects.
  • Oversee routine maintenance of Portland facility infrastructure.
  • Ensures security and emergency preparedness procedures are implemented properly.
  • Communicates workplace safety precautions to employees.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as required.

Requirements

  • Minimum 3+ years of building construction experience as Commercial and/or Industrial Construction Supervisor or equivalent.
  • Minimum 3+ years facilities maintenance experience, preferably in a manufacturing setting.
  • Significant knowledge of building construction means, methods, and regulations.
  • Ideal candidate would have GC license, heavy equipment operation experience, and experience with constructing food and drug facilities to CFR standards.
  • Possesses strong knowledge base in all divisions of commercial and mixed-use building project components including civil/site-work, foundation and structural systems, interior finishes, exterior wall systems, mechanical and electrical systems.
  • Strong computer skills - MS Office suite and Google Sheets. Including the ability to use CAD, Visio, or similar drafting software.
  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret common construction drawings and specifications, financial reports, and legal documents.
  • Exceptional critical thinking and problem solving skills.
  • Working knowledge of electrical, mechanical, plumbing and/or HVAC systems.
  • Working understanding of CMMS software.
  • Strong organizational and project management skills.
  • Ability to think out-of-the box to solve problems creatively.
  • Available for on-call/after-hours work
