The Credentialing Specialist works closely with and supports the Credentialing Coordinator, as well as many health-care facilities and agencies, educational institutions, state agencies, etc. to verify a provider’s credentials and experience. They do this by ensuring all expirables in the provider’s file are obtained and updated timely, all submitted CME is saved in the provider e-files and entered in Echo (credentialing software), and performs other tasks that support the internal credentialing processes. The specialist is responsible for ensuring compliance with The Joint Commission credentialing standards, SOC Telemed policies as well as state licensing agencies and facility client credentialing/privileging requirements.
Responsibilities:
- Participate in credentialing, re-credentialing, licensing and privileging activities
- Update credentialing database and provider’s file with current and accurate information
- Process Primary Source Verification as part of the credentialing process
- Ensure work and product standards are of the highest quality
- Maintain professional communication with all external customers, coworkers, and management
- Maintain compliance with Joint Commission Credentialling Standards
- Maintain strict confidentiality of all provider files
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
Minimum Qualifications:
At least one year experience in provider credentialing or similar relevant experience Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and web based Proficient in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel and PowerPoint) and web based applications Professional written and verbal communication skills and ability Proven time management and prioritization skills focusing on urgent and overlapping deadlines Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and proven accuracy with record keeping Requires ability to maintain strong working relationships with clinical staff, outside agencies, coworkers and management Must be a self-starter, energetic, organized, a fast learner and thrive in a fast paced and changing environment Ability to balance multiple projects concurrently, follow through and focus on details Strong problem solving skillsEducation:
High school diploma Associate degree or higher preferredPreferred Skills:
