Job Description

Proximie is an award-winning, cloud-based, real-time communication platform that can virtually transport a surgeon into any operating room in the world, regardless of location, to remotely assist, mentor, or train colleagues. Helping scale surgical expertise regardless of location, from world-renowned hospital theatres to conflict zones.

The award-winning patented solution enables the effective transfer of clinical and surgical expertise using a simple, scalable, and secure (GDPR / HIPPA compliant) service. Overlaying AR features and machine learning services over a real-time communication feed to augment the delivery of surgical care and education.

Proximie requires low bandwidth and is easy to deploy, using commonly available hardware, including mobile. Founded in 2016 by Dr. Nadine Hachach Haram an NHS surgeon, Proximie is headquartered in London, with offices in Boston and Beirut.

Description:

We are looking for an experienced senior product manager to help define Proximie’s data and analytics product solutions. In this role you will work across the entire company including engineering, design, and the leadership team. You will be responsible for product strategy through implementation tackling ambiguous data problems and helping to define them in meaningful ways.

Responsibilities:

  • Define the data and analytics product roadmap based on a clear understanding of customer internal and external stakeholder requirements.
  • Lead products through the development lifecycle, collaborating and influencing across all cross-functional stakeholders including clinical, product management, user experience, software engineering, compliance, regulatory and executive leadership.
  • Map the user journey to identify key user flows to serve as key input to product strategy and roadmap.
  • Perform both product owner and project management duties, including managing software teams to a schedule and ensuring timely delivery.

Requirements

  • BA/BS in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or other related technical field.
  • Minimum of 4+ years of product management experience with a focus on data and analytics.
  • Track record of delivering exceptional, user-focused products to market.
  • Expertise in understanding how data can be productized and monetized in different ways.
  • Good communicator with strong negotiation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Experience working in the clinical, surgical, medical device, digital health, pharmaceutical, or similarly regulated industry would be highly advantageous.
  • Knowledge of data privacy laws (especially GDPR, HIPAA)
  • Start-up or early-stage growth company experience would be highly advantageous.
  • Self-starter with the ability to operate with a high degree of autonomy.
  • Advanced knowledge of machine learning and predictive analytics is essential for this role.
  • Experience with video streaming technology would be highly advantageous.

Background

Proximie passionately believes that technology can help improve access to safe and affordable surgical care in both developed and developing nations. There is a huge global shortage of trained surgeons, and roughly one-third of the global disease burden measured by DALYs is from conditions requiring surgery. In 2010, 17m lives were lost from conditions needing surgical care, dwarfing those from HIV/AIDS (1.5m), TB (1.2m), and malaria (also 1.2m). Utilizing their platform and community of regional and global experts, Proximie is helping bridge this gap between supply and demand by enabling remote surgical assistance and education across 4 continents, without the inefficiencies and costs of travel. Scaling limited surgical expertise across the world Proximie has enjoyed significant commercial success and industry recognition.

Its services are also being used by leading surgical device companies and governmental organizations. Proximie has won multiple awards for its innovation, including the Royal Society of Medicine Innovation and eHealth award, the Best Augmented Reality Industry Technology award at London Tech Week, and the Foreign Press Association science story of the year.
