The Job

You’ll be joining in the midst of a massive expansion of one of the most innovative programs the automotive industry has ever seen. You will supervise the team that identifies vehicles with recalled airbags and notifies their owners of the serious risk. Your team will play a crucial role in getting these deadly airbags off the road for good. Your job will be to manage the operations of our Puerto Rico region and enable the team’s success.

You will be responsible for building and leading a team in our brand-new Puerto Rico market.

You will be responsible for:

  • Building and managing a remote team of drivers based in markets throughout Puerto Rico.
  • Hiring, training, and/or terminating drivers as needed.
  • Coordinating operational needs of drivers through daily touchpoints over the phone and in-person meetings as needed.
  • Monitoring driver and community safety, operational costs, and performance metrics.
  • Holding the team accountable for performance goals while staying under budget.
  • Providing regular updates to the leadership team regarding regional performance.
  • Identifying and implementing tactics to improve the efficiency of the team.
  • Participating in new market expansions as needed.
  • Acting as a first point of contact for drivers if/when issues arise in the field.
  • Enabling a swift and efficient feedback loop between the Operations and Product/Engineering teams.
  • Participating in setting goals and determining strategy for your team.
  • Planning and executing short-term projects and experiments within your region.
  • Assisting with data collection and reporting required for incentive pay programs.
  • Other responsibilities, as necessary to ensure the health and success of your team, yourself, and the company.

Requirements

What You Bring to the Table

  • A strong desire to work at a mission-driven company.
  • Excitement and energy to be a part of building and expanding a brand new program.
  • 2-4 years experience leading a team.
  • Extensive hiring experience, including for hourly positions.
  • Comfortable with data, and passionate about solving problems and finding opportunities with numbers.
  • Willingness to travel regularly via car between and within markets; overnight travel may be required.
  • Strong listener, who approaches opportunity and conflict with the same curiosity.
  • Flexible availability, weekend hours may occasionally be required with advanced notice for special events.
  • High standards, and a respect for the continuous improvement process.
  • Exceptional professionalism, communication, and organizational skills.
  • A team-first mentality, with the ability to learn on the fly and the willingness to follow a process when available.
  • A current driver's license with a clean driving record, and can pass a background/drug test.
  • Must be able to occasionally lift 25 lbs.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset.
